- Habitat
- Bottomland forests and swamps. Infrequent to locally common in the inner Coastal Plain of se. Virginia, mostly south of the James River. Especially common on the Blackwater, Nottoway, and Meherrin Rivers; somewhat isolated northward on the Chickahominy River in New Kent Co.
