A Southern Appalachian endemic that is rather rare throughout its range from nw. GA, e. TN and w. NC to sw. VA and e. and c. WV.
Habitat
Bogs, seeps, and high-elevation stream banks; less typically along seeps in northern hardwood and spruce-hardwood forests; generally at high elevations. Rare in sw. mountains; known only from Giles, Grayson, and Tazewell counties.
