- Known from a single Fernald station (Dahlia Bog), now apparently destroyed. Although collected and determined by Fernald & Long as O. ternata, it was subsequently referred to for a period of years as O. filiformis, a species now known to range north only to se NC.
- Habitat
- Sphagnous bog. Rare, s. Coastal Plain; known historically from a single site in Greensville County.
