- Certainly more common than the few records suggest owing in part to the species not being distinguished from S. media in most plant manuals. Most specimens are simply identified as S. media.
- Habitat
- Gardens, fields, and other open, disturbed habitats. Apparently infrequent or rare; verified from several counties, but its range in the state is uncertain due to confusion with S. media in earlier work.
