Apparently the native variety in our region, although occurring near the eastern edge of its range.
Habitat
Primarily in thin, dry, rocky, limestone woodlands; occasionally in similar woodlands on other substrates such as calcareous sandstone or calcareous shale. Rare in the Ridge and Valley region of the mountains.
