Comments
This European introduction seems quite at home and potentially invasive on the xeric ledges of carbonate-rock cliffs in the Ridge and Valley province. In recent years, it has also been documented with increasing frequency in ruderal habitats.
Habitat
Naturalized species of dry rocky woodlands, cliffs, and outcrops over limestone, dolostone, and other calcareous or mafic rocks; also around old homesites, in fencerows, and in roadside thickets. Infrequent (sometimes locally abundant) in the mountains and s. Piedmont; rare elsewhere.
Native Status
Introduced
