Comments
An arborescent species with very large, thin leaves, intermediate between C. coccinea and C. mollis. Since it does not fit comfortably within either of these species, it is here maintained as a distinct species for the time being.
Habitat
Mature open forests of both stream bottom and upland sites. Rare; apparently restricted to the sw. mountains.
