- Crataegus beata was collected (as C. curtisii) by W.W. Eggleston at Finchley in 1908. It is a bit of an anomaly, seeming to have affinities with C. iracunda and C. pruinosa. The only significant difference from C. iracunda is in having 20 stamens, however, placing it there disrupts an otherwise clean concept for that species.
