- According to FNA, B. rotaeanum ought to be widespread in Virginia. It is possible that specimens identified as salebrosum and campestre, which probably do not occur in Virginia, should be referred here. A wholesale study of Virginia material of Brachythecium is needed to bring coherency to it's treatment here.
