Comments
This small, trailing loosestrife was discovered new for Virginia by Mary Jane Epps in 2017. It is known from several nearby counties in West Virginia, as well as in Maryland and Louisiana (Kartesz, BONAP, 2017), so its occurrence in western Virginia is not all that surprising. It remains to be seen whether it will become more widespread and fully naturalized.

Forested trailside at Mountain Lake Biological Station, Salt Pond Mountain, Giles Co.
