- Nomenclature follows Stotler & Crandall-Stotler (2017), A synopsis of the liverwort flora of North America north of Mexico, Ann. Mo. Bot. Gard. 102(4):574-709. Specimens mapped here bear the name Lophocolea bidentata and were, with few exceptions, collected by P.M. Patterson in the 1940'5 and 50's. Modern taxonomic study might place them with any of three species of Lophocolea as interpreted here.
