Comments
Variants said to range into se Va were called Eupatorium aromaticum var. incisum due to their more incised leaf margins. This name is now considered a synonym of Ageratina jucunda which FNA restricts to Florida and s. Georgia. Our plants presumably represent normal variation in A. aromatica, but may be worthy of further study.
Habitat
Dry mesic to dry upland forests, woodlands, and clearings; particularly abundant in open forests and woodlands influenced by prescribed or incendiary fires. Widely distributed but rather infrequent in the Coastal Plain and Piedmont; infrequent at low elevations in the mountains.
Native Status
