- The Frederick Co. population was recently relocated after many decades; the Shenandoah Co. population documented in the 1940's has not been relocated and is probably extirpated. In 2013, a new population was found in Bath County by Fleming and Ludwig.
- Habitat
- Calcareous seepage swamps and fens. Rare, mountains; collected from three sites in the Ridge and Valley region of nw. Virginia (Bath, Frederick, and Shenandoah counties).
