The original Virginia record for this northern, disjunct sedge was an old H.A. Allard specimen from Elliott Knob, see Sida 15:131 (1992). The species was recollected from the same area by Rob Naczi in the early 1990's.
Habitat
Northern hardwood forests. Rare, mountains; known only from the north slope of Elliott Knob in Augusta County (Ridge and Valley province).
