- Comments
- Plants more or less matching this var. appear to be characteristic in the se. Virginia Coastal Plain. Our material matches var. curtisii in its densely silky-strigose leaflets, but often has leaflets somewhat longer than 2 cm, perhaps representing introgression with var. hirta. We have mapped all such material as var. curtisii, based on Fernald's collections at GH plus two additional recent records. Herbarium studies will no doubt turn up additional records from the region.
- Habitat
- Sandy woodlands, dry to boggy clearings, and roadsides. Infrequent, s. Coastal Plain, south of the James River.
- Native Status
- Native
