Comments
This large, heavily armed species can be highly invasive. It is similar to Rubus bifrons, and has been confused with it. Rubus pascuus has stout, recurved prickles, a canescent upper stem, and white to pale pink flowers (vs. straight prickles, glabrescent upper stem, and pale to deep pink petals in R. bifrons).
Habitat
Old fields, fencerows, clearings, and roadsides. Infrequent but often locally abundant where found; primarily Piedmont and Coastal Plain.
