Comments
A specimen at VPI from Amelia Co. (J.B. Lewis #1895; Mill Quarter, roadside e. of Clark house) was annotated as possibly this species. Though phytogeographically improbable, it may be worthy of investigation. This species is generally considered a plant of dry rocky woodlands and outcrops from sw. NC and se. TN to nc. GA and n. AL, disjunct in nc. TN.
