Comments
Collected but twice in Virginia, in 1960 and 1968. Likely a waif. There are few collections of Tamarix spp. from Virginia, the specimens are fragmentary, their identifications are all over the map and need critical re-evaluation. Both Tamarix chinensis Louriero and T. parviflora A. DC. have been attributed to Virginia by Flora of the Southeastern U.S., but all specimens known to us are from cultivated trees.
Habitat
Sandy open field in Norfolk City; roadside in Giles County.
Native Status
Introduced
