Comments
The Eurasian Solanum nigrum is a rather rare introduction in eastern North America, more frequent on the Pacific coast from California to Alaska. The City of Alexandria record was cited in Knapp et al's 2019 revision of the Morelloid clade of Solanum L. (PhytoKeys 123: 1-144).
Habitat
Known from a single, 1896 collection from the City of Alexandria by E.S. Steele; likely a waif. No information is given on the specimen label, but it was no doubt in a disturbed, urban habitat.

Introduced
