Comments
An Asiatic tree, often cultivated and reported as a scattered escape in many northeastern and upper Midwestern states, and Canada. Currently a rather rare adventive in urban areas of Virginia. It remains to be seen whether this species will become truly established in the state. See Wright et al. (Castanea 88: 61-78, 2023) for more information).
Habitat
Reported as an escape in urban/suburban forests and roadsides of northern Virginia and the Richmond area.
