- Comments
- Map incomplete at this time. This taxon is sometimes treated as a var. of Carex retroflexa due to confluent or slightly overlapping character traits. However, most specimens are readily assignable, and also differ in their gestalt and ecology. Carex texensis is generally a plant of ruderal habitats, appearing to be much weedier than C. retroflexa and behaving like an aggressive introduction, but similarly often on base-rich soils.
- Habitat
- Lawns, fields, pastures, and roadsides; usually weedy. Apparently infrequent throughout, but may be numerous where found.
- Native Status
- Native
