- See Comments under Dichanthelium acuminatum var. acuminatum; separation of var. acuminatum from var. fasciculatum can be problematic and a certain percentage of specimens cannot be confidently assigned to either taxon. Map incomplete at this time, pending further field and herbarium studies.
- Habitat
- In varied damp to dry forests, woodlands, barrens, outcrops, clearings, fields, and other disturbed habitats; also occasionally in seasonally dry depression ponds, clay-soil flatwoods, and other alternately wet and droughty habitats. Although its full distribution has not yet been mapped, var. fasciculatum appears to be frequent to common throughout the state, likely in every county.
