- Hybrids with E. serotinum have been reported from City of Richmond and Roanoke Co., see Tucker and Dill in Castanea 54(1):43-48 (1989). The Roanoke population was originally published on by Uttal in Jeffersonia 3(2):5-8 (1969). This hybrid goes by the nothospecies name Eupatorium ×truncatum Muhl. ex Willd.
Hybrids with E. capillifolium known as ×pinnatifidum Ell., were mapped in previous hardcopy editions from King & Queen, Hampton, and Newport News. - Habitat
- Floodplain forests, freshwater tidal marshes, tidal swamps, bogs, fens, interdune swales and ponds, stream banks and riverbanks, flood-scoured sandy and rocky bars, wet meadows, fields, ditches, impoundment shores, and other low, disturbed habitats. Frequent throughout.
