- Habitat
- Dry, compacted soils of fields, old roadbeds, sidewalk cracks, and other barren, disturbed habitats. Most often encountered in urban areas or in areas otherwise strongly disturbed by humans. Frequent in the Coastal Plain; infrequent in the Piedmont; rare in the mountains.
