- Oligohaline tidal marshes and mud flats, brackish interdune ponds and swales, artificial ponds and waterfowl impoundments. Infrequent in the outer Coastal Plain (Accomack and Northampton counties and the Cities of Newport News and Virginia Beach), but often abundant where found.
