- Comments
- This relatively large-flowered species is the showiest of our dodders, and its beaked capsules are distinctive. Populations in a given locality often appear sporadically, and vary greatly in size in the years they are present.
- Habitat
- Middle- to high-elevation montane forests and clearings; on various herbaceous hosts (e. g., Laportea canadensis, Impatiens capensis, Oclemena acuminata, Symphyotrichum spp., Solidago spp.); also observed on woody hosts (e.g., Rubus spp., Hydrangea arborescens, and Lindera benzoin). Rare in the mountains, but may be locally abundant where found.
