Comments
This species has become established at Claytor Lake State Park in Pulaski Co., an obvious inadvertent introduction representing the first record west of the Blue Ridge. It has also been recently found in a cattle pasture in Scott County, suggesting that it is spreading into western Virginia.
Habitat
Lawns, pastures, and other disturbed habitats, typically in dry, exposed soils. Frequent in the s. and c. Piedmont and adjacent inner Coastal Plain; rare in the mountains.
