- Mesic to dry-mesic upland forests, old fields, fencerows, other disturbed uplands, and various wetlands; especially common in alluvial floodplain forests. Frequent to locally common in the Coastal Plain and Piedmont; less frequent and limited to low elevations in the mountains.
