- Incompletely mapped at present. This species was mapped through three hardcopy editions of the Atlas before being lumped with V. sororia in earlier versions of the Digital Atlas, following Ballard's interpretation in Violets of Michigan (The Michigan Botanist 33 (1994)). Ballard now recognizes the species, albeit probably not with the concept previously mapped in the Atlas. Records will be added as Virginia's herbarium material is re-evaluated.
