- Specimens attributed to Virginia were collected by Sullivant and Gray (ad fluminis Kanawha) in what is present day West Virginia. However, Virginia is well withing the range of the species as mapped in FNA and should be sought here.
The ephemeral nature of the genus in combination of the often wet, muddy habitat of this species, is undoubtedly a factor in the absence of records from Virginia. - Habitat
