- This species is mapped for Virginia by FNA, but the documentation is unknown to us. It is included here in the hopes that supporting specimens can be identified. Anderson, Shaw & Shaw (2009) lump this species into S. torreyanum, noting a coloration difference but not microscopic differences, and a lack of separation by microsatellites.
