- Sandy or peaty shores of depression ponds, interdune ponds, and old millponds; usually in seasonally flooded soils that draw down by late summer, sometimes rooted on floating peat mats. Rare, Coastal Plain; known from four counties in far se. Virginia and from Accomack County on the Eastern Shore.
