- Crevices of dry, shaded or exposed cliffs and outcrops of limestone, dolostone and, rarely, other calcareous sedimentary rocks. Infrequent in the mountains; very rare in similar habitats on calcareous metamorphic rocks in the Piedmont (Campbell and Loudoun counties).
