- Not seen at the Wise County station since 1942. The Russell County station was discovered in 1985 by Doug Ogle and was still extant in 2004, though significantly fewer plants appeared to be present, presumably due to old field succession.
- Habitat
- Low fields and clearings. Rare, mountains of sw. Virginia; recorded only from Russell, Scott, and Wise counties.
