- Fawcett et al. (2021, SystBot 46(4): 891-915), in a very comprehensive phylogenetic analysis of Thelypteridaceae, found that Parathelypteris is paraphyletic and should be merged with Amauropelta to maintain monophyly.
- Habitat
- Mesic and dry-mesic upland forests, well-drained floodplain forests, swamp hummocks, and ecotones; occurs in a wide range of low- to high-elevation community types. Common throughout.
