- Freshwater and oligohaline tidal marshes, tidal swamps; occasionally in nontidal wetlands such as flooded interdune swales, beaver ponds, impoundments, sluggish streams, and bottomland pools. Common in the Coastal Plain; infrequent to rare in the Piedmont and mountains.
