 - Two subspecies - ssp. miliaceum and ssp. ruderale - have been collected in Virginia. However, due to uncertainty about the subspecific identity of some herbarium material, we are mapping only at the species level for now.

 - Frequently planted in wildlife food plots and occasionally spontaneous; also sometimes found around bird feeders (apparently a common component in bird seed mixes). A rare, questionably persistent weed; native of Eurasia.
