- The name Thalictrum revolutum is illegitimate, as de Candolle cited Thalictrum pubescens Pursh in synonymy when he named it. In the original, hard-copy FNA Vol. 3, Park and Festerling used the name T. revolutum, but it has now been replaced by T. amphibolum in the online FNA treatments .
- Habitat
- Dry to occasionally mesic forests, rocky woodlands, barrens, and outcrops on mafic and calcareous substrates; also in ultramafic woodlands, calcareous fens, and Coastal Plain shell-marl ravines. Frequent in the mountains; infrequent in the Piedmont; infrequent to rare in the Coastal Plain.
