 - Found in the field by John Bunch, 10/24/2018, and grown until spores matured in December. This is an infrequently collected species of widespread distribution in the East. Mature spores and elaters are generally needed for identification.

 - Open, moist, sunny habitats, often disturbed. The Virginia specimens were collected from a seasonally saturated powerline clearing in the se. Coastal Plain.
