- The attribution of this species to the Eastern Shore (Accomack Co.) in the Flora of Virginia (p. 1037) was based on a mapping error in the Digital Atlas that has now been corrected.
- Habitat
- Depression swamps and ponds, boggy clearings, and peaty alluvial swamps. Rare in the inner Coastal Plain south of the James River (Greensville, Prince George, and Sussex counties); disjunct to sinkhole ponds in Augusta County in the central Ridge and Valley region.
