- Comments
- The tall scapes and large orange to yellow flowers in bracteate racemes are unmistakable. This commonly cultivated species propagates in situ by creeping rhizomes, and is capable of spreading far from plantings by inadvertently transported root or rhizome fragments.
- Habitat
- Remnant of cultivation around old homesites, escaping to floodplain forests, disturbed upland forests, old fields, fencerows, and roadsides. Frequent throughout.
