- The current map is very incomplete due to past lumping with Cyperus retrofractus. Extensive herbarium work will be required to map these species separately.
- Habitat
- Dry, open forests, woodlands, and clearings; often in sandy soil. Distribution and status are incompletely known (see Comments). The species is tentatively assessed as infrequent but widely distributed in the Coastal Plain and Piedmont.
