- Comments
- A weedy species, only recently documented in Virginia. It is native to the southeastern U.S., but its nativity in our area seems doubtful. The usual northern range limit given is central North Carolina, and Fernald did not find this taxon in se. Virginia during fourteen years of intensive field work from 1933-1946.
- Habitat
- Sandy or peaty clearings. Rare, known only from the s. Coastal Plain (Chesapeake City, Greensville County), and the extreme eastern Piedmont of central Virginia (Henrico County).
