- An aggressive and rather weedy Dichanthelium of disturbed habitats in the Coastal Plain and Piedmont, but sometimes occurring in more natural settings.
- Habitat
- Bogs, interdune swales and pond edges, maritime swamps, sea-level fens, ditches, low fields, damp to fairly dry clearings, and roadsides. Common in the Coastal Plain and Piedmont; very infrequent at low elevations in the mountains.
