- Habitat
- Salt scrub, upper borders of salt marshes, brackish shores, interdune swales, and disturbed maritime habitats; occasionally in maritime forests. Probably frequent in the lower estuarine and maritime zones of the outer Coastal Plain, but not well documented. Sometimes treated as a species (as by Flora of the Southeastern U.S.), E. halophilus.
