- A tough-rooted, rapidly spreading exotic that has increased greatly in ruderal and disturbed, open habitats over the past ten or twenty years. Probably throughout southeastern and east-central Virginia, though not yet represented by vouchers from all counties.
- Habitat
- Roadsides, cultivated fields, weedy clearings, and waste ground. Frequent in the s. and c. Coastal Plain, rare in the se. Piedmont.
