- Found new to Virginia in 1997 by Perry Scott. !Hellquist. This Potamogeton reaches its southernmost station in Bath County, and appears to be uncommon or rare in much of its range to the north. - Spring-fed oxbow pond. Rare, mountains; known only along the Jackson River in Bath County (Ridge and Valley province).
