- Habitat
- Moist to wet meadows, clearings, riverside prairies, seeps, and outcrop barrens with periodic seepage; also in alternately wet-and-dry, shrink-swell hardpan soils. Infrequent in the mountains; rare in the Piedmont; often locally abundant where found.
