- Comments
- Often confused with E. coloratum in Virginia. The distribution shown in Atlas lll reflects this and is here largely corrected, though numerous specimens have yet to be rechecked. The species is montane and far less common than previously thought.

- Bogs, seeps, wet meadows, and wet clearings; usually at higher elevations. Infrequent to rare in the mountains and n. Piedmont.
