- Tidal swamps, freshwater and oligohaline tidal aquatic beds, ponds, disturbed tidal (or formerly tidal) habitats. Mostly infrequent or rare, and scattered throughout; locally abundant in tidal reaches of the Potomac River and its major tributaries, in Back Bay, and possibly in other estuaries.
